About Us

Owner, General Manager and local resident Paul Terpeluk's first-hand experiences caring for his own aging grandparents, and the desire to contribute meaningfully to the local community after a lengthy management career, led him to the flourishing in-home care industry. As a teenager, Paul was one of several family caregivers for his two grandmothers living in his home, as well as his great grandfather, Iron Luke (a blacksmith from Ukraine). While they all wanted to remain in a home setting, the challenges of in-home care were too great and nursing homes became the only option. The experience left a lasting impression, and years later, once again recognizing the incredible amount of stress and responsibility placed on family caregivers, Paul decided to open FirstLight Home Care.

Paul intends to make FirstLight Home Care a valuable resource for those in need. With the aging population of baby boomers wanting to remain in-home and independent for as long as possible, FirstLight is committed to meeting this growing need and taking the opportunity to better educate the community about the options available to them. FirstLight HomeCare services the Sacramento area, including Roseville, Lincoln, Fair Oaks & Carmichael.

Working with Paul is Operations Director and Care Coordinator Kimberly Ellis, who has over six years of experience in the home care field hiring, managing and scheduling excellent caregivers.

Both Paul and Kimberly live in South Placer County.
